    Are You Uncommon? 


    We're on the hunt for a MS SQL Administrator to support Solera EMEA and region products and finance applications. Apart from the typical MS SQL database administration activities, there is also opportunity to work on all other relational database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and some of the NOSQL databases.

    What You’ll Be Doing


    At Solera, we believe in providing clarity and focus to what our volunteers are responsible for – their mission. The 80’s, as we call them at Solera, are the employee’s priorities associated with their role or mission.


    The mission 80’s for this role, are:


    1. Responsible for MS SQL server administration i.e. installation, setup, backup and recovery, patching, performance tuning etc. in an Enterprise level high availability environment. 

    2. Responsible for supporting the development teams during the Sprints on all phases of the product life cycle.

    3. Responsible to review the existing standards, templates, guidelines and documentation globally in the Solera world and streamline all the existing servers to follow the same.


     Additional responsibilities of the role include: 

    • On call Support for the mission critical databases of Solera.
    • In case of issues, troubleshooting of all the related systems and applications.
    • Scripting and automation for the routine day to day activities. 
    • Successfully integrate into the Global IT Organisation, embracing the culture and Solera Way.



    Are You Qualified?

    • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
    • 5+ years of Database Administration experience.
    • 2+ years of experience in MS SQL server DB administration.
    • Experience in supporting MS SQL server databases for Enterprise level high availability applications. 
    • Experience in projects from Oracle to MS SQL server migration.
    • Strong knowledge and experience in supporting MS Windows operating systems and  the patch management.
    • Experience in maintaining, proactively identifying, troubleshooting and resolving issues.
    • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills – Collaboration with the infrastructure, network, application and data teams.
    • Self-motivated, delivery focused with the ability to work independently where required.
    • Committed and have a strong sense of ownership.


    • Support disaster recovery and business continuity practice.  
    • Knowledge in devops tools such as Katello.
    • Knowledge in bug tracking tools such as Jira.
