    We're on the hunt for a Technical Architect to lead Global IT's solution engineering- someone who has a proactive attitude and always takes the initiative in ensuring project outputs are delivered on time and to the expected quality.

    Position 80s

     What You’ll Be Doing

     

    At Solera, we believe in providing clarity and focus to what our volunteers are responsible for – their mission. The 80’s, as we call them at Solera, are the employee’s priorities associated with their role or mission.

     

    The mission 80’s for this role, are:

    1. Responsible for designing and developing infrastructure solutions for global initiatives.
    2. Responsible for prototyping new solutions, performing analysis and requirements gathering, documenting acceptance criteria and overseeing implementation to production. 
    3. Responsible to understand business processes and to create business cases and secure funding for projects.

     Additional responsibilities of the role include: 

    • Be the 80 within the team for delivering infrastructure solutions.
    • Deliver proof of concept build and design for new initiatives.
    • Documentation of solutions for global delivery.
    • Drive consensus between guilds to deliver process efficiency. 
    • Automate processes where possible to reduce manual configuration. 
    • Understand the infrastructure environment and build multidisciplinary solutions with a holistic view.
    • Successfully integrate into Solera, embracing culture and Solera way. 
    • Become a knowledgeable source on datacenter networking, WAN connectivity and campus networking.
    • Become an accretive member of the networking and architecture guilds enabling more effective delivery of quality project outputs.

    Qualifications

    Are You Qualified?

    • Proven experience of working in an IT service operations team.
    • Knowledge of data centre architecture.
    • Project Management of implementation of new systems & hardware.
    • Creation of system architecture design and support documentation.
    • Able to work to aggressive deadlines, whilst remaining flexible to the needs of the business.
    • Proactive, enthusiastic and output driven.
    • Willingness to embrace and drive change.
    • High energy and resilient.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to influence others and unquestionable integrity.
    • Thrives in a pressurised, high output focused environment.
    • A thirst for understanding technology developments on all levels.

    Knowledge of one or more of the following areas to design level is desirable:

    • Networking (route/switch, security, scripting, telephony, WAN)
    • Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, Containers)
    • Storage (SAN, NAS, FC)
    • Compute (x86)
    • Cloud platforms (Iaas, PaaS, DBaaS) – both private and public
    • Database technologies (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL)
    • TOGAF/ROGAF qualification
